2012 Family Motto

“Whoever refreshes others will be refreshed.” (Proverbs 11:25)

2011 had a very large focus on us. 

My new job. Our new home. Our wedding. Us, us, us. Me, me, me. 

And while that was very lovely, Rian and I both agree that neither of us is very comfortable with the spotlight. Growing up, Rian and I both held to the similar view that we were happy whenever everyone else was happy. We weren't the spotlight kids in our families. And we were (and still are) both content with that.

So, needless to say that this year sort of threw us off our axis. And while we both enjoyed the attention and outpouring of love (I mean...who doesn't?), we are both ready to get back to our own little sense of normalcy.

Which is why this year's motto really fits so well for us. Focusing on the refreshment of others is objective number one this year. Whether it's lending an ear, a helpful hand or a kind word, this will be the motto of 2012. We have so many friends and family that gave SO much to us in 2011, that it's not only right but it will also be an honor to shift our focus toward them.

Bring it on 2012! We are so excited to usher you in.
